Interim Management
ROTTERDAM MANAGEMENT
GROUP
The Rotterdam Management Group (RMG) is the Interim
Management activity of InterSearch Netherlands.
RMG is specialised in placing HUMAN RESOURCES & FINANCE
Interim Managers, however we regularly also place experienced specialists in
General Management, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Logistics and Legal
functions. Our clients range from Multinational Corporations to Medium sized
local companies but also increasingly include Hospital and other (semi)
Governmental institutions.
RMG works with a team of experienced of directors,
managers and specialists who have proven their ability to quickly pick up a
problem area and directly initiate solutions. We work with a stable group of
interim managers who have mostly already worked with us so that we are well
aware of their specific strengths and cultural fit.
At the start of each interim project, client
expectations are thoroughly discussed and condensed in a concise memorandum
with definition of project steps and benchmarks, specifically towards the end
result. We choose to be methodical and well informed before we make a
presentation of an interim manager, both with respect to the client and the
interim person. However we are also able to provide overnight solutions as
urgent business or political situations may require.
Obviously we are completely independent from any present
or future audit and accountancy interests.
Typically an interim project with RMG will be in the following steps:
- Analysis & Definition
- Presentation & Selection
- Project Execution
- Monitoring & Support
- Project Targeted Result
- Post Project Care
Examples of interim projects:
An automotive industry manufacturer was undergoing huge production process difficulties at one of their sites when the HR Manager became incapacitated to work. RMG was given the assignment to come with an overnight solution to not only finding a replacement but also to provide a manager who could make a key contribution to solve the production problems.
The assignment was given on Friday, the potential interim managers were briefed over the weekend and were presented in person on Monday morning at the remote plant location to the Site Director. A few days later one of the presented managers was fully operational. 3 months later the organisation was in a much better shape and a new HR Manager recruited.
An international venture fund was confronted with poor financial reporting from one of their petrochemical companies. At their request an experienced Financial Interim Manager was put in place to restructure reporting and administration processes. Within 6 months reporting was in line with the expectations and standards of the venture fund. This was also the opportunity to implement internal audit process and to meet the requirement of international corporate governance.
A textile multinational acquired a local company and needed to sort out and standardise the HR policies and tools. After a good evaluation of the issues and the cultural environment of both the mother and daughter company, 3 possible Interim HR Managers were presented. Two weeks later the assigned manager started and within 9 months concluded not only the originally defined tasks but also several HR related issues.
